We are a teeny tiny brand but I firmly BELIEVE SMALL CHANGES MAKE BIG DIFFERENCES.

This is why I started TheMiniPost Apparel. TO CREATE MODERN BASICS FOR KIDS IN NON-TOXIC FIBRES THAT ARE NOT HARMFUL TO THEIR DELICATE SKIN.  PRODUCED FROM CAREFULLY SELECTED CERTIFIED ORGANIC AND SUSTAINABLE FIBRES in factories approved by the Fairwear Foundation  a non-profit organisation that works to improve conditions for workers in garment factories.

MY AIM IS NOT TO BE A WHOLESALE POLLUTER, RATHER TO START A CONVERSATION.  

A conversation that will encourage consumers to stop being passive contributors to this detrimental industry and start asking simple questions about the fashion industry. 

- Ask where are clothes made - How are they made - Who made them

BE INFORMED, START READING THE LABELS LIKE YOU DO WITH FOOD. 

Experience has proven that once people are aware of the impact fashion has on the planet and on the people who make their clothes;  they begin to care, and importantly CONSUME WITH CARE.

And that is where it starts. Its how together we can disrupt a destructive industry.

Vivienne Westwoods' comment still resonates the most and cuts through the noise. She put it simply:  "Buy less. Choose well. Make it last. Quality, not quantity. Everybody's buying far too many clothes." 

Together our individual small changes add up, and can and will make big differences to our planet, the long term health of our children and their future.

So to give you a rough idea ; Cotton is the most common fibre used to make clothing. COTTON IS THE MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY DAMAGING FIBRE

The water required to grow the cotton for 2, maybe 3 pairs of jeans equates to the amount of water you would drink in a lifetime. 

Cotton uses more insecticides than any other crop in the world. Seven out of the 15 most carcinogenic chemicals known to man are used to grow cotton. These chemicals poison the farmers causing their early death. The pesticides seep into run-off water polluting and poisoning rivers and water supplies. Pesticide residue is discovered in foods, farm animals and even breast milk. 

Pesticides remain on the final garments we wear, sitting directly on our skin causing irritations, rashes, eczema. This is most detrimental to babies and small children whos' skin is delicate. It can cause a life time of harm.
